The cast and filmmakers behind Red Flag, starring Ahmed Hatem and Jamila Awad, celebrated the film’s premiere in Cairo ahead of its theatrical release in Egyptian cinemas tomorrow, September 9, with its release in Arab cinemas set to follow the next day.
The special screening was attended by several of the film’s stars, including Ahmed Hatem, Jamila Awad, Nesreen Amin, Mimi Gamal, Sherif Mounir, Seif Zahran, and director Mahmoud Karim. Actress Entesar and Lebanese actress Reem Khoury were absent from the premiere.

A number of celebrities, media personalities, and public figures attended the premiere at the invitation of the film’s cast and filmmakers, ahead of its official theatrical release. Among the notable attendees was editor Filmgraphy Ahmed Hafez, Jamila Awad’s husband, who came to support her and posed for photos with her on the red carpet.
The event also welcomed media personalities Soheir Gouda, Ahmed Gamal Saeed, Malak Awad, daughter of actress Rania Farid Shawky, Nahed El Sebai, Lina Sofia, Omar Shawky and his wife, Marwan El Mosallamani, Malak Dahshan, Suzy Al Ordoniya, Youssef Wahby, Reham El Shenwany, and other guests.
One of the most striking details of the premiere was the dominance of red throughout the event. The film’s stars, filmmakers, and several prominent guests embraced red outfits, while others opted for black looks accented with touches of red, echoing the film’s concept and overall spirit.
Romance and Comic Twists… The Story of Ahmed Hatem and Jamila Awad’s Red Flag
The film unfolds as a social romantic comedy filled with a series of humorous twists and turns. It follows Hisham, a flight attendant played by Ahmed Hatem, who leads his father and those around him to believe that he works as a pilot in an attempt to enhance his social image.
Hisham is also a man with a complicated romantic life and multiple relationships. His life takes a turn when he meets a woman who works at an advertising agency. He falls in love with her and decides to marry her but continues his romantic adventures as he travels around the world.
As their relationship develops, the film explores the concept of a “red flag”—the warning signs we recognize in a partner—and examines how jealousy and suspicion gradually make their way into their relationship, eventually threatening the stability of their marriage before their story takes further turns.
Alongside the film’s leading cast, Red Flag features a number of guest stars, including Bayoumi Fouad, Hamza El Eily, and Nahed El Sebai, among others. The film is written by Ahmed Mohie and Kyrillos Ayman Fawzy and directed by Mahmoud Karim.
