The cast of Ryan Murphy’s The Shards landed in Berlin on Monday evening for the German premiere at AchtBerlin, with Kaia Gerber joined by co-stars Graham Campbell, Igby Rigney, Hayes Warner and Homer James Jigme Gere. The stop followed the show’s world premiere in New York on July 27th and its London premiere on July 30th, completing a three-city press run ahead of the series’ debut with two episodes on August 5th on Hulu and FX. Adapted from the Bret Easton Ellis novel of the same name, the series is set against the backdrop of 1981 Los Angeles and follows a group of privileged high school seniors at an elite prep school as they navigate identity, sex, jealousy, and obsession while a killer moves through the city around them.
The Prada Look
Throughout the press tour, Gerber has leaned into dark dressing that matched the series’ subject matter, a semi-sheer Valentino gown in New York, and a black silk chiffon dress from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s debut Fendi Fall 2026 couture collection in London. Berlin marked a deliberate departure.
Styled by Emma Jade Morrison, Gerber wore a custom white Prada two-piece, a low-waisted column skirt extending to the floor and a subtly structured bodice with thick straps, entirely open at the back with just three hook-and-eye closures connecting the fabric. It was clean, uncomplicated, and unmistakably in her register as a model who has always sold minimalism better than maximalism. However, the reception was not universally positive, with several critics noting visible tension across the front of the bodice that the three closures at the back could not resolve.
The Rest of the Carpet
Hayes Warner delivered the evening’s boldest fashion moment in a voluminous Valentino look that drew considerable attention for the sheer quantity of fabric involved, while Igby Rigney went for oversized 1940s-inflected tailoring.
Graham Campbell and Homer James Jigme Gere both opted for straightforward suiting in muted tones, which left the visual weight of the carpet almost entirely with Gerber and Warner.
