The Grand Hyatt Red Sea is now open on Shura Island. This spectacular new luxury resort expands Saudi Arabia’s tourism landscape.

Set on the coast, the 430-room property blends coastal design with elevated dining. It also offers world-class wellness facilities and family-friendly experiences.

The Kingdom’s Red Sea coast continues to attract prestigious hospitality brands. This flagship arrival gives global travelers a compelling new reason to explore the region.

The opening marks the second Hyatt-branded property within The Red Sea destination. It also becomes the eighth Hyatt hotel in Saudi Arabia. With 430 rooms, suites, and villas, the resort aims to welcome families, couples, wellness travelers, and guests seeking a refined coastal escape.

However, its appeal extends beyond accommodation. The property brings together dining, leisure, wellness, and event facilities within one expansive destination.

The resort’s design takes inspiration from Shura Island’s natural surroundings. It follows the Coral Bloom master plan by Foster + Partners, which shapes the island’s development around its coastal environment.

Its distinctive canopy structures reference the organic forms of coral reefs. They also incorporate recycled fishing nets, creating patterns of light and shade across outdoor spaces.

Inside, the design continues the connection with the sea. Muza Lab designed the 430 accommodations around natural textures, warm tones, and organic forms. Private balconies and terraces overlook the sea, lagoon, or landscaped gardens. Selected suites and villas also feature private pools for guests seeking additional privacy.

The result creates a calm atmosphere while maintaining a strong connection to the island’s landscape.

Nine Dining Venues and a New Culinary Destination

Food plays a central role in the resort’s experience. Grand Hyatt The Red Sea plans to offer nine distinctive dining and social venues, covering everything from international cuisine to relaxed beachfront experiences.

At opening, guests can visit Embers, a live-fire restaurant serving grilled meats and fresh seafood. Drift Pool Bar offers a more casual setting, with light bites and drinks beside the water.

Seven additional concepts will join the culinary offering in later phases. These include The Amalfi Club, inspired by Italian coastal dining, and Café Maude, a French-style bistro. Havana Social will bring a lively atmosphere, while Charcoal Tandoor Fire Grill explores Indian cooking.

The lineup also includes El Ta’koy, a Hawaiian street-food concept by chef Luis Pous. Meanwhile, chef Akira Back brings his Korean barbecue concept to the island. Award-winning pastry chef Janice Wong will introduce 2am, a dedicated dessert bar.

Together, these concepts position the resort as more than a place to stay. They aim to make it a dining destination in its own right.

Wellness, Leisure, and Family Experiences

Beyond the restaurants, the resort offers several ways to slow down or stay active. Five swimming pools include three outdoor options, an indoor lap pool, and a spa vitality pool.

The Ethereal Spa covers approximately 750 square meters. Its facilities include treatment rooms, with wellness experiences featuring the VOYA brand. Guests can also access a 500-square-meter fitness center.

Families have dedicated spaces to enjoy throughout their stay. Camp Hyatt welcomes younger guests, while a separate club caters to teenagers. Meanwhile, adults can find quieter spaces across the resort’s pools, spa, and dining venues.

The property also introduces a major events destination to Shura Island. Its facilities include meeting rooms, a junior ballroom, and the island’s largest grand ballroom. These spaces can accommodate conferences, weddings, celebrations, and other gatherings.

Discovering Shura Island

Grand Hyatt The Red Sea sits near Shura Marina, placing guests close to the island’s growing waterfront scene. The marina offers 159 berths for yachts, while nearby retail and dining experiences add another dimension to the destination.

Travelers can reach the island through Red Sea International Airport. From there, the journey continues across Shura Bridge, connecting the island to the Saudi mainland.

The resort’s opening adds another international hospitality name to The Red Sea’s expanding collection. More importantly, it strengthens Shura Island’s position as a destination for leisure, dining, and major events.

For travelers looking beyond the familiar luxury escapes, the Saudi coast is becoming an increasingly compelling option. And Grand Hyatt The Red Sea offers a new way to experience it.
