Egyptian actor Ahmed Fahmy has announced his participation in Ramadan 2027 with a new comedy series produced by Synergy, marking his return to Ramadan television after a three-year absence since his 2023 series Serro El Bate’.

Fahmy shared the news with his followers on Instagram, posting a photo alongside producer Tamer Morsi and writing: “Ramadan 2027, God willing, produced by Synergy, directed by Moataz El-Tony, and written by Sherif El-Laithy.” The production team is currently in the preparation phase, selecting cast members and completing the remaining key elements ahead of filming, which is expected to begin within the coming months in order to meet the Ramadan broadcast window.
The Series
Set in a social comedy framework, the show follows a young man who inherits a popular sports club, finding himself suddenly responsible for managing the expectations of fans, administration, and players alike, a situation that puts him in the middle of a series of challenges and spontaneously comedic moments. The series stars Hatem Salah, Mohamed Lotfy, Aya Samaha, Sayed Ragab, and Rushdy El-Shamy, with a screenplay by Mohab Tarek and direction by Karim Saad.

Separately, production is underway on Sultan Hamid, a drama moving between past and present, based on the story by writer Youssef Idris. The series follows Sultan Hamid, a folk hero and resistance fighter during the French campaign in Egypt whose legendary acts of bravery inspired the construction of shrines in his name across villages throughout the country. In the present-day storyline, a character named Hamid attempts to uncover the secret of this historical figure, finding himself caught in a series of crises along the way. The series stars Hussein Fahmy, Ahmed El-Saadany, Reem Mustafa, and Hanan Mottawe, with screenplay, dialogue, and direction by Khaled Youssef.
Ahmed Fahmy’s most recent television appearance was in Ibn El-Nadi, which aired last year on MBC Shahid.
