Lancôme has welcomed Zoe Saldaña to its Collective of Global Ambassadors, and if you know anything about either of them, this one is not a surprise. An Academy Award-winning actress and the highest-grossing film actor of all time, having starred in Avatar, Avatar: The Way of Water, and Avengers: Endgame, Saldaña brings exactly the kind of scale and substance that Lancôme has been building its ambassador roster around.
The First Campaign
Her first campaign for the brand will see her front Intercept, part of Lancôme’s recently launched Absolue Longevity MD line, the house’s first dermatologist-validated skincare range, built around longevity science and designed to address visible signs of ageing at every life stage. It is considered the first assignment. Saldaña, at 46, is precisely the kind of woman the line is speaking to: someone whose relationship with beauty has evolved alongside her life, not despite it.
The Collective
She joins an accomplished roster that includes Julia Roberts, Olivia Rodrigo, Christy Turlington, Isabella Rossellini, Aya Nakamura, and Vanessa Kirby, a collective that is genuinely diverse in age, background, and cultural reach. For a brand that has long positioned itself around the idea of fearless optimism, the choice of Saldaña, multicultural, Oscar-winning, and visibly in the prime of her career, reads as a statement rather than just a casting decision.
