The designers celebrated their creative roots and the joyful spirit of this wonderful region
Inspired by Arab culture, Georges Hobeika’s Couture Spring 2024 collection was a tribute to the glamour and beauty of Middle Eastern women. The luxurious collection, which was shown during Paris Fashion Week, focused on the joyful and creative aspects of the culture of this wonderful region while evoking the house’s creative roots.

The Co-Creative directors Georges and Jad Hobeika, describe the collection as a love letter to women and the culture that has surrounded them over the years and continues to influence them to this day. Elements of childhood nostalgia clearly interwoven with the spirit of the 50s, 60s, and 70s, reflecting the joy of life at the parties of those eras, while a sense of streamlined modernity added a touch of contemporary edge to the design. The Colourful silhouettes and playful details also convey the warmth of the Arab spirit, exuding a feeling of hope and compassion.

One of the standout features of the collection was its vibrant colour palette of reds, greens, pinks, purples, and blues, which is delicately influenced by the wonderful vibes of Beirut, a symbol of Arabic culture.

The iconic coffee cup, a staple of Lebanese social events, was turned into the shape of an earring, and the swirls of its grains – used to predict good fortune –were employed as prints and motifs on flawless column dresses. Tapestry and rugs were also an integral part, whether in the form of dresses or skirts that elegantly wrapped the models’ bodies. Shoes and bags also featured fringed borders and intricate details that added to the oriental feel.
Georges Hobeika’s collection captured the fantastical spirit of this fascinating culture, with shimmering motifs and translucent designs, coats that appeared to be made of glass, and magical tulle and mousseline gowns that seemed to float as if suspended on the body. Details from childhood memories were also revealed, represented by the intricate embroidery that distinguishes the House of Georges Hobeika, as well as highly comp detailed lex thread work with contrasting textures that mimic the texture and fringes of a rug.
The contrast between sensuality and modesty was also felt throughout the collection. The two designers simultaneously enhanced and opened up the curves, but the hands always remained covered and the gloves became an important design element, a dégradé beginning at the fingertips and gently shifting through the spectrum of colours. To emphasize the fun and attention to detail of the collection, Ornate bags are combined with gloves.
Georges Hobeika’s Spring 2024 collection took us to the heart of the Arab world’s culture, to witness a glimpse of its colorful and creative sides, while at the same time highlighting the charm and beauty of Middle Eastern women. But without a doubt, it reminded us of the importance of embracing one’s roots to nurture a truly distinctive and captivating fashion sense.
