Through her upbringing, studies in business administration, work as a teacher, and career as a jewelry designer, her journey has encompassed a variety of experiences. As a teacher, she made a lasting impact on her students, while her talent as a jewelry designer allowed her to express her artistic vision and create sentimental pieces. Soul Closet had the privilege of sitting down with the remarkable Jordanian jewelry designer and owner of the jewelry brand “FWLN”, to explore her captivating story and the passion that helped her become the inspiring person she is today.

“My dual roles as a teacher and jewelry designer highlight my diverse talents and interests. These roles might seem distinct, but they both involve creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively – whether through my designs or teaching”. Ghaidaa says at the beginning of our conversation.
Ghaidaa‘s passion for creativity and fascination with craftsmanship led her to pursue jewelry design, “I was drawn to the intricate beauty of jewelry – the way it can tell stories, evoke emotions, and become an extension of one’s personality”. Seeing it as a form of meaningful expression, Ghaidaa was drawn to the beauty of jewelry, “I wanted to channel my artistic instincts into a tangible form that people could cherish and wear. Jewelry design allows me to combine my love for aesthetics, materials, and meaningful expression all in one art form”.
Starting as a hobby, Ghaidaa’s designs gained recognition among friends and family, inspiring her to establish her own jewelry brand, “FWLN”. “I started by creating a small collection that reflected my unique style – a blend of modern aesthetics and timeless elegance. With a focus on quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, my brand gained recognition for its distinctive pieces. I initially introduced my creations through local artisan markets and online platforms, gradually building a loyal customer base”.

The brand symbolizes the transformative journey of women through life’s transitions. “The moon’s symbolism mirrors this journey, embodying the idea that each phase holds its own unique and inherent beauty, mirroring the diverse and exquisite qualities of women”, Says Ghaidaa.
Emerging from the heart of Jordan, “FWLN” Jewelry is meticulously crafted with the finest elements that nature has to offer, 18k gold, ethically sourced gemstones from around the world, and exquisite natural diamonds. These materials are entrusted to the skillful hands of artisan goldsmiths, who bring each piece to life, pairing them with handpicked gemstones.
Beyond the tangible materials, “FWLN”’s designs draw inspiration from the enchantment of the universe. Ghaidaa reveals, “Our creations are infused with a touch of cosmic inspiration. But it doesn’t stop there—FWLN pieces are woven with a subtle magic that transcends the visible, transformed before they become the exquisite jewelry they are”.
At “FWLN” Jewelry, Ghaidaa and her team dare to approach things differently. Starting a jewelry brand is a thrilling endeavor, but it comes with its fair share of challenges. From competition to financial constraints, supply chain issues, design innovation, and marketing visibility, the journey can be daunting. However, Ghaidaa shared her strategies for overcoming these obstacles.” Thoroughly researching the market and finding a unique niche helped set my brand apart,” she reveals. By focusing on a specific style or audience, she was able to carve a space for her brand’s distinct identity. “Building brand awareness and reaching the right audience can be difficult, especially when competing with well-established brands with larger marketing budgets”.
Emphasizing her Continuous learning about jewelry trends and techniques, along with seeking inspiration from various sources, enabled Ghaidaa to maintain fresh and appealing designs. Social media and online presence were also vital for “FWLN” Jewelry’s visibility. Operating through their website and social media platforms, they showcased their creations and engaged with potential customers. “Innovation, learning, and seeking inspiration from various sources are of extreme importance. They can keep the designs fresh and appealing. Attending industry events, collaborating with other designers, and engaging with the local artisan community expanded our reach and provided us with valuable insights. Above all, persistence and adaptability were key to overcoming challenges”.
“The power of gemstones is a profound influence on my jewelry designs, infusing them with meaning, energy, and aesthetic appeal. Gemstones hold a unique allure, not just for their visual beauty but also for the symbolism and energies they carry,” says Ghaidaa, the designer of galaxy and moon-themed jewelry made with gemstones, gold, and diamonds, while adding: “The captivating beauty of celestial bodies and the allure of precious gemstones come together to shape my unique designs”.
When asked how she gets ideas for her designs, Ghaidaa confirmed that the vast expanse of the night sky, twinkling stars, mesmerizing galaxies, and the ever-mysterious moon, serve as a constant source of inspiration for her. She added: “The celestial realm evokes a sense of awe and wonder that translates beautifully into my jewelry. The swirling patterns of galaxies, the phases of the moon, and the mystique of cosmic phenomena spark creativity. The moon, sun, and the stars have long held symbolic meanings and emotional connections in various cultures”.
Inspired by customers’ experiences and stories, Ghaidaa’s designs carry personal significance that infuses a deeper meaning into her creations, she explains: “My designs often reflect emotions like memories, romance, and experiences. The idea of wearing a piece of jewelry that is timeless, elegant, and luxurious yet carries a very special meaning behind it can be a powerful motivator. It’s a reminder of special moments, dreams, or loved ones”.

Ghaidaa’s jewelry embodies cherished memories and loved ones for generations to come, “Each gemstone carries its own symbolism, whether it’s love, protection, healing, or wisdom. I carefully select gemstones that align with the themes and emotions I want to convey in a particular design. This adds depth and intention to the piece, making it more than just a beautiful jewelry piece”. Ghaidaa explains, adding: “Clients often seek specific gemstones that align with their preferences, birth months, or intentions. This level of personalization adds a layer of uniqueness and individuality to each piece, creating a one-of-a-kind experience”.
“Gemstones can evoke emotions, creating a connection with the wearer. This connection adds a personal touch to the design, making it a cherished heirloom that lasts forever”. Ghaidaa adds, “Many believe that gemstones possess energetic properties that can influence a person’s well-being. Whether it’s the calming energy of amethyst, the protective qualities of turquoise, or the balancing effects of rose quartz, these properties can enhance the wearer’s overall sense of harmony and vitality. I incorporate gemstones with specific energetic qualities to create jewelry that not only looks stunning but also contributes to a sense of balance”.
Gemstones come in a wide range of colors, from deep blues to vibrant reds, delicate pinks to earthy greens, “The color palette of gemstones inspires my design choices, influencing the overall aesthetics of a piece. Whether I’m aiming for a bold statement or a subtle elegance, gemstones play a pivotal role in achieving the desired look and feel”, confirms Ghaidaa.
“A piece of jewelry is a reflection of a woman’s outer appearance and inner personality,” says the designer behind FWLN Jewelry. It enhances her physical features and completes her style, adding finesse and drawing attention to specific attributes. But its influence goes beyond aesthetics. Ghaidaa explains, “Jewelry unveils a woman’s personality to the world. The style she chooses showcases her preferences and individuality. Certain pieces hold sentimental value, connecting her to cherished memories and representing her journey. It empowers her by aligning with her beliefs and passions, becoming a visual expression of her identity”. The designer continues: “We’ve had the privilege of seeing our jewelry designs embraced by a diverse range of individuals, including some well-known figures from various fields. Carole Samaha is someone whose music I’ve admired for many years, so knowing that she has worn one of our necklaces means a lot”.
“Crafting custom pieces for celebrities is an honor but also a great responsibility. It involves a meticulous process that revolves around understanding their style, incorporating meaningful symbols, reflecting their unique story, and collaborating closely with them for feedback”. Ghaidaa adds: “We use high-quality materials and exceptional craftsmanship to ensure the piece meets their standards. Each design is tailored to their preferences, reflecting their individuality and journey. Privacy and confidentiality are paramount in our interactions. The end result, says Ghaidaa, is jewelry that has deep meaning: “It’s not just a piece they wear – it becomes a cherished possession that resonates with their identity”.
Ghaidaa confirms her approach is “highly customized to each woman.” She explains, “I aim to truly understand her unique vision so I can narrow choices to options she’ll cherish. With a significant portion coming from renowned regions such as India and Sri Lanka _known for their exceptional gemstone craftsmanship_ the gemstones of FWLN are sourced meticulously. Ghaidaa’s creations are usually made of 18k gold, diamonds, and natural gemstones of the highest caliber. “The diamonds featured in my pieces are of VVS1 clarity and are ethically sourced from Belgium, ensuring both their quality and responsible origins. By incorporating these exceptional materials into my designs, I aim to produce jewelry that not only embodies exquisite aesthetics but also adheres to the utmost standards of quality and ethical sourcing” ” she explains.
For Ghaidaa, designing a piece of jewelry is a meticulous and artistic process that unfolds through several thoughtful stages, “It commences with drawing inspiration from diverse sources, guiding the conceptualization of the piece’s essence and narrative. Sketches and plans follow, translating these ideas into tangible designs that outline proportions and essential features. The selection of materials is a crucial step that greatly shapes the piece’s aesthetic and quality”.
In this phase, modern technology comes into play, as Ghaidaa explains, “CAD software transforms sketches into digital models, ensuring precision and accurate visualization. “The process moves from digital to tangible as prototypes allow assessment before meticulous refinement and delicate setting of gemstones. With rigorous quality control and distinctive finishing, the finely crafted jewelry creation culminates in a piece that “speaks both to its design and the emotional resonance it holds for the wearer”.

While Strengthening her brand’s online presence and engagement is a focal point, Ghaidaa Qattan also envisions opening physical branches, starting in Jordan and eventually expanding to other parts of the world. She says: “These branches will provide a tangible space for clients to connect with my designs and story. Additionally, I plan to host pop-up events and showcases, enabling direct interactions with clients and facilitating feedback exchange”.
