Red Carpet – Smart Corridor at Dubai Airport

In a significant recognition of technological innovation, Emaratech has been awarded by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) for its pivotal role as the technology partner behind the groundbreaking “Red Carpet – Smart Corridor” project. The award was presented during the GITEX GLOBAL 2025 event at the Dubai World Trade Centre, highlighting a successful public-private partnership that is redefining the future of air travel.

A Landmark Partnership Celebrated at GITEX

The celebratory ceremony was a key moment at GITEX, one of the world’s premier technology expos. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA-Dubai, presented a commemorative shield to Thani Al Zaffin, Director General and CEO of Emaratech. The event was attended by senior officials from both entities, including Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA-Dubai, underscoring the project’s strategic importance.

This honor is not just an award for a single project but a testament to a long-standing and fruitful collaboration. For years, Emaratech has served as the technological arm for GDRFA-Dubai, working jointly to develop and implement digital solutions that enhance the efficiency and security of Dubai’s travel infrastructure.

Revolutionizing the Passenger Journey with AI

The “Red Carpet – Smart Corridor” is a flagship initiative that has fundamentally transformed the passenger experience at Dubai International Airport. By leveraging cutting-edge artificial intelligence and facial recognition technology, the project allows travelers to move through the airport seamlessly, without the need to repeatedly present physical travel documents like passports or boarding passes.

This system enables what is effectively a “walk-through” experience. Passengers pre-registered for the service can pass through designated corridors in a matter of seconds, their identity verified automatically by AI. This eliminates traditional bottlenecks, reduces queue times, and creates a smooth, human-centric journey that feels more like a red-carpet treatment than a standard security and immigration process.

A Shared Vision for a Digital Future

During the award ceremony, Lieutenant General Al Marri highlighted how the project shows that government and technology companies can work together to prioritize people. He linked the initiative to the GITEX theme, “Digital Services… for an Easier Life.” He noted that the partnership with Emaratech has helped introduce solutions that make traveling through Dubai smoother and safer.

Thani Al Zaffin expressed pride in the recognition, emphasizing the spirit of teamwork and shared ambition driving Dubai’s innovation ecosystem. He said,
“We are proud to be GDRFA-Dubai’s technology partner in landmark projects like the Smart Corridor and the Red Carpet.”
Al Zaffin also reinforced Emaratech’s ongoing commitment to support a digital ecosystem that always prioritizes the user experience.

The success of the Red Carpet – Smart Corridor strengthens Dubai’s reputation as a global leader in smart travel and digital transformation. It also serves as a model for other cities, showing how advanced technology can create more efficient, secure, and human-friendly public services.
