House Babylon announces the opening of its first store in El Gouna, Egypt. The space marks a considered addition to the brand’s growing physical presence, extending its approach to homeware into one of the country’s coastal towns.
Set within El Gouna’s distinctive landscape, the store has been conceived as a quiet, tactile environment. Natural materials, softened light, and a measured layout shape a space that encourages unhurried movement and close attention to detail. The design reflects House Babylon’s ongoing interest in restraint, material integrity, and everyday use.

On shaping the new store, designer Farah Khafagi states “To give warmth, to invite, to be at home. This is what I kept com ing back to while working on House Babylon. I didn’t want to design a store; I wanted to shape a feeling I recognize, the qui et comfort of being somewhere that doesn’t ask anything from you. As an architect and designer, I let the space stay a little imperfect, a little unresolved, like a home that has grown over time. Materials are chosen for how they age, light is allowed to rest instead of impress, and objects are placed the way hands might leave them, not the way a display demands. The space is meant to be lived in, even if only for a moment, a pause, a breath, a small sense of belonging before moving on”.
The store presents a selection of the brand’s core collections, including organic cotton bedding, bath towels, robes, and loungewear. Each piece is developed with an emphasis on ethical sourcing, durability, and comfort — intended for daily rituals rather than occasional use.
This opening continues House Babylon’s broader exploration of how domestic objects shape daily life. In El Gouna, the brand’s work finds a setting that allows for simplicity, pause, and a closer relationship with the spaces we inhabit.
