Egypt and Qatar are set to sign a significant investment partnership agreement in the coming days to activate a multibillion-dollar Qatari investment package. The deal will focus on developing a large-scale project in Samla and Alam El-Roum within Matrouh Governorate, located along Egypt’s Mediterranean coast.
According to Egypt’s Cabinet, the agreement marks a new stage in bilateral cooperation aimed at supporting economic growth and infrastructure development in one of Egypt’s key northern regions.
High-Level Talks Finalize Egypt-Qatar Investment Matrouh Deal

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, in Doha to finalize arrangements for the upcoming agreement. The meeting built on discussions from the sixth session of the Egyptian-Qatari Joint Higher Committee, held last August in New Alamein City.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the memorandums of understanding signed during that session and to expanding investment, trade, and infrastructure cooperation between the two nations.
Qatar Expands Investments: Energy, Tourism, and Real Estate Support for Egypt
The Qatari Prime Minister praised Egypt’s ongoing efforts to enhance economic stability and development and reiterated Qatar’s readiness to expand its investments across multiple sectors, including energy, tourism, and real estate. He also underscored Doha’s full support for Egypt’s pursuit of sustainable growth.
Prime Minister Madbouly conveyed President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s greetings to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and emphasised Egypt’s appreciation for the “strong and brotherly ties” uniting both countries.
Talks Address Gaza and Strategic Cooperation via Egypt-Qatar Committee
The talks also addressed the latest developments in Gaza and Egypt’s continued diplomatic efforts under the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement. Both sides agreed on the need to accelerate joint initiatives under the Egypt-Qatar committee framework to strengthen regional stability and economic cooperation.
The forthcoming partnership is expected to boost investment in Egypt’s northwestern region, reinforcing Qatar’s role as one of Egypt’s key regional investors and advancing long-term collaboration between Cairo and Doha.
