Sheikh Mohammed approves Latifa City and a series of transformative projects for the year 2024
Dubai is set to develop housing projects for Emirati citizens including a main project named “Latifa City”, as a part of its 2040 Urban Master Plan.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved a series of transformative projects for the year 2024 as part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 that aims to enhance the quality of life and social stability of Emirati families.
Objectives of “Dubai Social Agenda 33”:
• Dubai ranks among the world’s top 3 cities in standard of living
• Healthy life expectancy among the world’s top 10 cities
• Quality of education in Dubai among the world’s top 10 cities
• Tripling the number of Emiratis working in the private sector
• Provision of land plot and loan for every new Emirati family within one year of application
• Encouraging doubling the number of new Emirati families in Dubai
Latifa City Housing Project:
One of the main projects is the Latifa City Housing Project which will provide 3,500 plots of land and 2,300 ready-to-move-in houses for Emirati citizens in Dubai, with a total value of AED 5.5 billion.

The project is named after Sheikh Mohammed’s mother, Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who was known for her humanitarian contributions and influential role in Dubai.

The housing plots span 40 million square feet, including 2,700 plots in Latifa City and 800 plots in the Al Yalayis 5 area. Eligible citizens from Dubai will receive ownership of the plots in February. The new houses are located across Al Khawaneej 2, Al Aweer, Wadi Al Amardi, and Hatta.
Sheikh Mohammed said that family is the cornerstone of the nation and the foundation of all development plans. He reaffirmed his commitment to providing Emirati citizens with the best living standards and welfare measures and launching more significant projects to fulfill their aspirations.

Transformative Projects for the Year 2024:
Apart from the housing project, Dubai has a lot of exciting new projects coming up this year and onwards. Commuters are excited for the 30-kilometer Dubai Metro Blue Line, which will link the current Red and Green Lines and carry 320,000 additional people daily.
There are also other noteworthy projects on the horizon, such as the Wasl Tower, The Island, Burj Binghatti, Dubai Creek Tower, and more, that are all currently under development this year.
The Latifa City Housing Project is part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which seeks to establish a global development model focused on empowering the community and ensuring optimal conditions for work and creativity. It envisions doubling the number of Emirati families in the emirate within a decade.
