A Drone logistics Service Is Now on Trial
Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, has launched a new service that allows customers to receive their postal mail and parcels by drone. The service is a result of a collaboration between Emirates Post Group, the official postal operator for the UAE, SkyGo, an aerial logistics provider, and Maqta Gateway, the giant digital marketplace.
The drone delivery service aims to provide a faster, more efficient, and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional delivery methods. The drones will carry packages and documents between designated locations in Abu Dhabi, starting with short-range trips and expanding to long-range tests with increased capacity. Customers will be able to use Maqta Gateway’s integrated digital marketplace, Margo, to facilitate online transactions and track their deliveries in real-time.
